‘SILENT MEN: The Awkward Art of Expressing Emotion’ is the debut feature-length documentary from BAFTA Scotland Award-winning documentary filmmaker Duncan Cowles.
Part therapy, part road trip, a deadpan filmmaker asks men how they show their emotions, to help him confront his own struggles with opening up to loved ones. Cowles’ laconic humour and frank approach to his subject proves effective in exploring aspects of masculinity that all too often are little discussed. The film has been awarded the Best Feature Documentary Award at the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival, and been long-listed for BIFA award for Best Debut Feature Doc Director.
Join us after the screening for a Q&A Discussion around the themes of the documentary hosted by a member of our Local Andy’s Man Club.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
