Fiona MacGregor is a Hamilton artist and multi-sensory storyteller. Pre-Covid, Fiona’s company Freerange ArtFarm worked with children and adults with a wide range of abilities, using props, puppets, percussion and Soundbeam 6 technology to provide interactive art and storytelling sessions.
When lockdown put a temporary halt to her business, she turned to art commissions, specialising in watercolour animal portraits. She wrote and illustrated her first children’s book, The Brownie of the Butter Burn, early on in the Covid-19 pandemic, and followed up her first success with The Canny Capercaillie, set in the Ancient Caledonian Forest.
This exhibition displays Fiona’s original artwork, shows the process of interactive storytelling, and supports the rewilding and protection of natural habitats and wildlife. Fiona donates a percentage of profits of sales from Capercaillie to Trees for Life, a Scottish rewilding charity.
She continues to paint commissions and takes her storytelling sessions to groups and festivals.
You can find her work on Facebook and Instagram as Freerange ArtFarm, and on her website: www.freerangeartfarm.co.uk
