Hot on the heels of the news that hip-hop superstar Nicki Minaj will host the MTV EMA and Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande are to perform (with many more names to be announced), MTV has revealed how fans can be part of the highly anticipated show, which will be broadcast at 9pm (UK) on Sunday 9 November from the SSE Hydro, Glasgow.
The network will be making seated tickets available to purchase via a public ballot (created in conjunction with Ticketmaster) that went live from 1200 UK today, Wednesday 8 October until 1200 UK, Monday 13 October 2014.
o Fans should register via the ballot which can be found at www.ticketmaster.co.uk
o The ballot will be live for 5 days, at which point the system will randomly select from those that applied. Those selected will be sent an email on Friday 17 October with a link to Ticketmaster and a personal password to purchase tickets to the MTV EMA.
o A maximum of 4 tickets can be bought by any one person and tickets will be priced as follows:
Seated, off-camera, unrestricted view of the show: £65
Seated, off-camera, restricted view of the show: £40
Ticketholders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
o MTV EMA seated tickets are only available from Ticketmaster, and only via the MTV EMA public ballot.
o The network urges fans not buy tickets from illegal sources as they will not be valid for the 2014 MTV EMA.
In addition, thousands more standing tickets will be made available for fans via a public casting for enthusiastic music lovers to be in on-camera positions as part of the show itself. The 2014 MTV EMA Casting will take place on 1 & 2 November in Glasgow with full details to be revealed in the coming weeks.
Nominations to the 2014 MTV EMA revealed that Katy Perry leads the race with nominations in seven categories, while Ariana Grande follows closely with nods in six categories. Pharrell Williams and 5 Seconds of Summer are each up for five awards. One Direction, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Eminem, Sam Smith and Kiesza all received four MTV EMA nominations each.
