Spring Planting

Join our team to make a newspaper pot, fill it with compost and choose from a selection of vegetables and pollinator-friendly flowers to plant. Then decorate a plant marker so you can remember what’s in your pot.
Farming Fables
Times: 11:00–11:30, 12:30–13:00 & 14:30–15:00 (sign up on the day)

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the museum and make some bread, of course! Join Allison Galbraith for the story of a big red hen and her hungry friends. With songs, puppets and dancing, this retelling of a classic tale will entertain the whole family.

We have lots of weird and wonderful things in our collection. See if you can identify our mystery museum objects, and find out how they were used on farms throughout Scotland.
